The vision for this groundbreaking expansion began with Coach Luis Jaime Borrego Flores, Antonio Aleman Viezca, and OKC Certified Lions owner Wilson Navas. Together, they saw a unique opportunity to create  an international extension of our club, right in the heart of Monterey. By fielding our own youth squad in the inaugural Teens League Mexico, we are giving the next generation of international stars a direct pathway to the top level.

Introducing Teens League Mexico: A First-of-Its-Kind Platform

Historically, young players have had to wait until their late teens or early twenties to get true professional visibility. Teens League Mexico is changing the game. As the first youth league of its kind, this groundbreaking 7v7 tournament was built from the ground up to give the 13–17 age group an unprecedented, professional-level stage. It is designed specifically to showcase elite teenage soccer talent, putting them directly in front of scouts, professional clubs, and international audiences before they even graduate high school.

The OKC Lions in Monterrey

This spring, the OKC Certified Lions are expanding our footprint. We have hand-selected a roster of elite local teens from Monterey through rigorous tryouts to wear the Lions badge and compete in Monterrey.

These young athletes aren't just playing for a local trophy—they are representing the Certified Lions on an international stage.

The Tournament Details:

  • The Location: Monterrey, Mexico

  • The Dates: March 11 – April 21

  • The Format: Fast-paced, high-action 7v7 soccer

  • The Competitors: 10 elite regional teams

  • The Roster: Top-tier talent, ages 13–17

The Pathway to the top level

Our club already has a rich history of featuring incredible Mexican talent on our  arena roster in OKC. We created this international extension to keep that pipeline flowing.

For the teens who truly stand out during the tournament, the stakes are life-changing:

  • The OKC Connection: Top performers will earn a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel, train, and play with the OKC Certified Lions in the United States.

  • Professional Scouting: Playing under the Lions' banner puts these teens directly in the spotlight to be scouted by Major Arena Soccer League teams.
